I want to support at least one more major change in policy – hopefully at the national or State level. I want to see at least a 25% increase in the number of ethnic minorities who are driving science policies and programs.

One of the most exciting trends is the discovery of the importance of the Microbiome affecting our health. Everyone should care because these discoveries further support the consumption of a plant-based diet, but also represent a pathway that all can follow to improve their health.

Research has the potential to drive health policy changes. These in turn can be used to improve the health of underserved communities.
