To understand the sunspots that were discovered 400 years ago. This is just to satisfy intellectual curiosity. These are the sites of explosive events that influence near earth space weather. As it effects most modern technology, understanding and predicting space weather is important.

On what drives or compels him to keep pushing the boundaries...

First and foremost, I am interested to explore the nature. Second, and also important is to give an opportunity to my students to taste exploring knowledge.

On what it means to be at CSUN...

It means to give a world class, front line education to the students, from those who could not make it to all students who are interested.
